There was a hiatus in farm updates last week as I was lucky enough to be taken away on a surprise trip to Adelaide by a wonderful friend. Adelaide amazed us at every turn - the friendliness, the food, the art, the gardens and the library, oh my goodness the library (pictured above)! Thank you Adelaide and thank you Tara.
Back to the real world and Sally and Patrick of Wagtail’s Garden are back from their break and getting stuck into their patch. We’ve also started getting organic produce from Maus market garden in Perth and the shop is more full than it’s been in months. Silverbeet, pak choy, cauliflower, turnips, snow peas, carrots, celery, cabbage, mushrooms, cucumber, zucchini, potato, orange sweet potato, purple skinned sweet potato, two types of potato, butternut, kent pumpkin, radish, fennel, cos lettuce, rocket, salad mix, dill, coriander, parsley, watermelon, banana, grapefruit, orange, lemon, lime, pear and apples. Oh, also ginger and turmeric. ALL organic and almost all grower direct, except for a handful of items that have come via the organic wholesaler in Perth.
It’s been great to see regular faces returning from trips away to escape the cold and new visitors discovering Gathered for the first time. We rely a lot on good reviews and word of mouth, as we’re terrible at updating social media, so always super grateful when we welcome repeat visitors or hear Gathered was recommended. Positive reviews on Google and Facebook really make a big difference for small businesses to get noticed, so if you like us or even any other small local business, please take the time to share the love!
