Spring Prep and Online Store Update

Garden prep, kids' play, and online store future

Group of sheep and lambs walking across a green grassy paddock. Fence posts and tall trees line the background.

Sally and Patrick are back from their midyear break and getting stuck into the garden, getting it ready for spring planting. Hooray! The livestock have been shuffled around on the farm too and the goats are sharing their paddock with the cows. If you drop out this week, you should be able to get a good close up look at a few different animals.

When the days are clear, we have been putting a mix of play stations out for kids to play with including water play, nature tables and play dough. Along with the trucks, dinosaurs and play blocks, there’s a bit to keep the kids occupied while you enjoy a break on the front verandah.

The great annual migration north has begun for many locals, as they get away to warmer weather and it’s been much quieter around the farm. Online orders have been declining for awhile but have now slowed to the point of being unviable. The online store will remain open for another month or so to see if demand improves, but if not the online store will close and we will focus on in-person sales through the farm shop. If you enjoy the convenience of online ordering, please follow the link at the top of this email and have a look at what’s on offer. Online orders are always packed first with local, organic produce just after it’s been harvested and before the farm shop is stocked up, and set price seasonal boxes are the best value as we include extra fruit and veg as a thank you. Fingers crossed there’s a boost in orders, as local, organic veg boxes are how we started it will be the end of an era to have to close it down.
