Local Produce Boxes and Kids' Garden Update

Weekly harvest news and updates on our kids' sessions

Sally and Patrick are away for a little while yet, but there is still produce coming out of the garden thanks to Hannah getting in there and harvesting. Carrots, silverbeet, leeks, lettuce and herbs are coming in each week from the patch on the farm, as well as pumpkins and kale from Wren Farm in Karridale, the most amazing citrus from the Moorfoots in Rosa Brook, freshly dug potato from Natural Farming Alliance in Osmington and the very absolute last of local avocado until the spring.

Set price boxes this week (which are available in small, medium, large and extra large sizes) still have a great range of seasonal, organic produce with most of it sourced locally, otherwise as far away as Perth. Small boxes have around 14 different varieties of fruit and veg, up to the extra large size with 20 different varieties.

Rows of leafless grapevines on trellises line a grassy path stretching into the distance under a cloudy sky. A shovel with a wooden handle leans in the foreground at left.

It’s cold and wet outside right now and the vines are resting up for another month or two yet.

A small kitchen garden is slowly taking form out the rear of the farm shop, which will provide produce for the cafe and also serve as an educational space for our kids sessions. The first radish and leafy greens were able to be harvested this week!
