Well, for the first time in years we didn’t manage to get a newsletter out last week. While thankfully last weekend’s storm didn’t cause any major damage and we dodged the three day power cut that many others copped, the storm did wreak havoc and the clean up combined with being open on the public holiday meant no update made it’s way to your inbox. Sorry!
As well as setting everything back to rights last week we had a visit from a researcher studying community models checking out our little social enterprise, packed veg boxes for some lovely customers (thank you to those who placed an order), ran a couple of kids sessions, had someone drop by with puppies to cuddle, tended to the goats and chooks, planted and harvested for the farm shop, baked and cooked away in the cafe kitchen and welcomed our regular community groups for their weekly catch ups in the community space.
Coming up this week, a new makuru/winter menu will be introduced on Wednesday, adapted for the season with new soup and toastie options as well as ginger biscuits and winter salads joining what’s on offer.

Cuteness overload in the form of puppies. We’re always happy to help socialise puppies, drop in any time!

The chooks have a pretty good life, free ranging in their own paddock during the day, locked up safe in their coop at night, daily greens from the garden and cafe and cuddles from the kids.
