Loose Lettuce Returns & Kids Sessions Resume

Lettuce mix is back, kids activities resume at the farm

Good news - Wagtail’s Garden loose lettuce mix is back! The very lettuce you will be eating is pictured in the left hand photo above. There’s been a bit of a gap in supply, but we received a crate on Friday and another fresh harvest is happening tomorrow morning. Also pictured above (on the right hand side) is a very healthy row of carrots busily growing away and heading for the farm shop soon.

We are open our usual hours from 8am on the public holiday tomorrow (Monday) morning as well as all the usual hours this week. It’s back into the routine with kids farm sessions, Nannas on the Mend, sewing groups, mother’s groups and all the usual regular catch ups that happen throughout the week.

And here’s Archer the resident market garden supervisor, snapped this week taking off with a sneaky carrot snack.

Assorted fresh produce arranged on a wooden table, including radishes, cabbage, celery, kale, broccoli, leeks, onions, potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, pears, apples, plums, and avocados. A butternut squash sits at the bottom right.

If you ordered an extra large organic fruit and veg box last week, this is what you would have received. A mix of 19 different varieties of fruit and veg, all organic and almost all grown on the farm or sourced locally. Most of our long term regulars opt for a larger fortnightly repeating subscription box as it represents the best value with the least waste, as the produce is so fresh it easily lasts a couple of weeks if stored properly. Set price boxes always get some extra value included and can only be purchased if ordered through the online farm shop (see the link at the top of this email).
