Last Plums of the Season and Clothes Market

Catch the last plums and visit the clothes market.

We’re seeing the very last of the stone fruit for another season, with the final late varieties of plum coming in. We expect them to be around for another week or two, but not much beyond that! There’s still a good variety of fruit around with apples, grapes, watermelon, banana and sapote, as well as the aforementioned plums all available this week. All organic and apart from the bananas, which have travelled from Carnarvon, all the fruit is from Margaret River or the Perth Hills.

The farm shop is getting topped up a few times a week from Wagtail’s Market Garden out the back with radish, spring onion, silverbeet, coriander, carrot, beetroot and the last of the salad mix. George from Wren Farm in Karridale has been dropping off heirloom tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli and pumpkins and the potatoes coming from Natural Farming Alliance in Osmington are looking fantastic.

Our open hours are as normal this week, including on the public holiday tomorrow (Monday). As with every school holidays, little invitations to play will be put out here and there for younger kids outside among the trees and the games and puzzles are available inside. Look forward to seeing you soon!

Three black cows with numbered yellow ear tags (12, 29, and 13) stand close to the camera in a dry grassy field. More cows graze in the background near trees under a blue sky.

The cows, sheep and alpacas have been moved around to fresh pasture, but can still be seen just beyond the goats and chooks. We have been hand feeding them most days, and it’s remarkable how quickly they have learned who is who with the humans on the farm. They are so lovely and calming to have around.

Everything that’s available from the farm cafe is made in house from whole foods - no additives, artificial anything or preservatives. This includes our chai, chocolate and strawberry syrups, chocolate powder dusting for hot drinks, juices, pickles, relishes and all the cakes, including the ever popular gluten free caramel slice (pictured above).
