Kids Sessions and Fresh Veg from Karridale

Updates on local produce and upcoming kids sessions

A hand holds two freshly harvested cauliflower heads—one purple and one creamy white—nestled in large green leaves. The background is an out-of-focus sunny field with trees.

George Wren’s patch in Karridale is in full production mode and some beautiful produce has been arriving every week. While not certified organic, George grows using organic principles, with no non-organic herbicides or pesticides. The veg is delivered to Gathered within hours of being harvested and is so fresh, the colours almost glow!

The sunflowers have definitely peaked, but there are still some beautiful blooms coming through the door. At only $2.50 a stem, they’re an absolute bargain! Organically grown alongside the vines on the farm by Sally and Patrick.

The kids sessions kick off again in a couple of weeks, so we’re in full cleaning and set up mode, getting ready for their arrival! This term we have 30 kids attending the gardening, art and cooking sessions over Tuesdays and Thursdays, aged between six and 16. As the term progresses, you will see their creations pop up around the place and construction for the new sensory garden out the back starts this week, with a very big thank you to Chris who is contributing his time and expertise to getting the first beds in. Thanks so much Chris.
