Grab Meyer Lemons and Kids' Kindness Cards

Citrus season and kids' gift project in town

Four smooth, orange-yellow Meyer lemons arranged in a cluster on a burlap fabric surface. The lemons fill most of the frame with their stem ends visible.

We’re deep into citrus season and one of the best has got to be Meyer lemons, the juiciest and best tasting lemon of all. They’re not easy to find in the shops as their soft skins don’t hold up well in transport, but if you’re able to source them locally, like we are lucky enough to do, be sure to grab some. Ari from just up the road has been dropping some off weekly for the farm shop, but not for much longer!

Seven small envelopes and a card are arranged on a gray wooden surface, each decorated with children’s drawings and handwritten messages like “for someone special” and “open me.” The designs include hearts, a blue heart, a smiling face, a rainbow, and a cartoon figure.

The younger kids at the farm have been learning about the value of doing things for others without any expectation of receiving something in return. To put this into practice, they spent a morning making cards and small gifts for strangers, which have been left around town for people to find and hopefully bring a little sunshine into their day. If you happen to find one, please let us know!
