After last week’s email went out, talking about how desperately dry the region has become, there have been a few days of glorious, earth soaking rain! It’s amazing how quickly nature responds - within a matter of days the ground is looking greener, and although much of it are weed seeds germinating, we’ll take it! Fingers crossed it’s only the start and the dry spell is truly over.
We’re shifting in to autumn produce now and this is reflected in the set price fruit and veg boxes, like the box pictured above that one lovely customer took home last week. Apples, pomegranates and pears, turnips, brassicas, beetroots along with the last of the tomatoes and eggplant. Perfect ingredients for cooler weather.
Most of what you will find in our completely organic boxes and in the farm shop comes from our shared farm, other growers in Margaret River (like Natural Farming Alliance, Burnside Organic Farm and Fair Harvest), or slightly further afield in Donnybrook. Never doubt that shopping local makes a difference, it really does!
