This year Anzac Day falls on a Thursday and we will still be open the usual hours of 7am to 6pm. The only change to the normal schedule is that deliveries will take place after 6pm on Thursday, instead of midday.
We’re still anxiously watching the long range forecast for rain as the situation is rather serious for south west growers. There is some hope on the horizon though, it’s looking like rain might be coming our way from the end of next week, with more to come in May. Thank goodness! Many growers have been forced to miss the late autumn planting of seeds and seedling, which may affect the availability of fresh produce in the coming months, but if we get a good dose of rain it will hopefully be a blip rather than a longer term problem.
In other news, the school holidays have come to an end and we are preparing to swing in to the Term 2 kids program for homeschoolers with art classes, book study, geography and board game catch ups. The Nannas on the Mend will be at the farm every Thursday from 1pm as usual, and all are welcome to come along to learn how to sew, repair, upcycle, knit or crochet (more info can be found further down this email).
