Pumpkin Harvest and Kids' Holiday Fun

Fresh produce and kids' activities at the farm

Striped green-and-cream pumpkin lying on straw among sprawling vine leaves in a garden bed. Low-angle view across the plants with farm buildings and a clear blue sky in the background.

The pumpkins are growing wonderfully in Sally and Patrick’s patch on the farm, as are so many things, they’re truly doing an amazing job. The first of the sweet corn and beans were harvested this week and surely one of the best things in life is freshly harvested corn - so good you can eat it uncooked, straight from the cob. That’s as far as it gets in our house anyway!

While Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays are when the shop is full to bursting of organic fresh fruit and veg, produce is being harvested and brought in to the farm shop most days during the week too, so it’s always worth stopping by. For example in the last week button squash, eggplant, cucumber, beans and sweetcorn appeared, as did a welcome surprise delivery of quince, apples and pears from Jodie and Do at Fair Harvest.

We’re open and the coffee machine is on from 7am Tuesday to Saturday, including public holidays and we would love to see you.

A large bunch of ripe yellow bananas piled on a shallow wooden tray outdoors. The background is blurred with trees and open ground visible.

School holidays at the farm! Facilitated sessions for kids aged between 6 and 14 years old. We set up a range of self-guided stations around the room including water colour and acrylic painting, beading and jewelry, upcycled creations, air dry clay, origami, wool weaving, hand sewing and more. The stations include examples and written explanations to suit all ages and abilities, with two staff on hand to help out and supervise. The examples and materials change slightly each week to offer different ideas to keep kids interested and engaged.

The sessions also include a walk around the farm to visit and feed the goats, have a look in the market garden to see what’s growing and kids can plant their own seeds to take home.

The farm shop and farm cafe will be open and you can order morning tea or lunch for the kids, or a coffee and cake for yourself to enjoy on the verandah. Food sensitivities are catered for, with vegan, nut free and gluten free options available*.

The classes are limited to 15 kids per session and bookings are required to secure a spot. Bookings can be made here.

All our art supplies are biodegradable and/or made from recycled materials, even the glitter! Any plastic pieces are sourced from op shops and donations from the community.

*Please note food is prepared in a kitchen where ingredients such as egg, nuts, dairy and wheat flour are handled.
