School Holiday Sessions and Veg Box Updates

Craft fun for kids, plus organic veg box details.

The garden on the farm is going from strength to strength, with Patrick and Sally doing amazing things in their patch growing for the farm shop. We held a busy bee in the community section last weekend mulching pathways and making the garden less snakey, although the resident Dugite wasn’t impressed being disturbed. We also now have a new set of compost bays thanks to the efforts of Milo, who got them done in his spare time, even in this heat. Thanks Milo!

Despite the garden looking wonderful and productive, water is becoming a real worry, or rather the lack of it. All of us at the farm rely on the dam for watering the garden and rainwater for everything else and levels are getting alarmingly low. Unfortunately the storm fronts that passed over last night and this morning didn’t really bring any rain, so fingers crossed meaningful rain comes along soon.

Bookings for school holiday sessions at the farm are now open. Held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10am to 12pm, and open for kids aged between six and 14. The sessions are lots of fun and we love seeing what the kids come up with when given free rein over the craft supplies! Scroll down for all the info and a link to book tickets.

The contents are mixed up every week, depending on the season and those that choose to subscribe always get a bit extra as a thank you! Set price boxes are available through the website, with four sizes to choose from. You’re also welcome to include requests which we will do our best to accommodate.

School holidays at the farm! Facilitated sessions for kids aged between 6 and 14 years old. We set up a range of self-guided stations around the room including water colour and acrylic painting, beading and jewelry, upcycled creations, air dry clay, origami, wool weaving, hand sewing and more. The stations include examples and written explanations to suit all ages and abilities, with two staff on hand to help out and supervise. The examples and materials change slightly each week to offer different ideas to keep kids interested and engaged.

The sessions also include a walk around the farm to visit and feed the goats, have a look in the market garden to see what’s growing and kids can plant their own seeds to take home.

The farm shop and farm cafe will be open and you can order morning tea or lunch for the kids, or a coffee and cake for yourself to enjoy on the verandah. Food sensitivities are catered for, with vegan, nut free and gluten free options available*.

The classes are limited to 15 kids per session and bookings are required to secure a spot. Bookings can be made here.

All our art supplies are biodegradable and/or made from recycled materials, even the glitter! Any plastic pieces are sourced from op shops and donations from the community.

*Please note food is prepared in a kitchen where ingredients such as egg, nuts, dairy and wheat flour are handled.
